You're too young to feel this old!
Say goodbye to the limitations caused by inflammation, pain, and fatigue and HELLO to a life you love!

You're too Young to feel This Old

Living with inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and spondylitis affects every moment of your day. The same thing goes for any condition that causes you daily stiffness, pain, and fatigue.

You're completely over it from the moment you get out of bed, frustrated that you have to deal with this on top of all the stuff that comes with attempting to be a fully functioning adult.

Where other people your age may struggle to keep up with friends, you're struggling to keep up with dishes.

When your friend's toddler acts up, they just carry (or drag) the kid to relocate them. You have to hope that the child cooperates at least a little because you know your wrist cannot take carrying them all the way up the stairs.

Even on a good day, you know tomorrow could be a completely different story. It's hard to make plans when you never know how much energy or spoons you'll have on any given day. You feel like you have no way to predict how tired you might be or how much pain you'll be in.

You feel like you've tried everything
  • Cutting out entire food groups, even the stuff you love
  • Taking handfuls of supplements every day
  • Following strict exercise routines -- when you could move at all
Besides the chronic pain and fatigue, you're feeling
  • Overwhelmed
  • Isolated
  • Anxious
  • Helpless
  • Frustrated
  • and even guilty
You're playing the blame and shame game for not having enough "willpower."

No wonder you're burned out, exhausted and struggling!
This is for you if:

  • You value flexibility -- the ability to roll with the punches
  • You want to take charge of your life.
  • You're ready to take action!
X This is NOT for you if:

  • You just want to be told what to do
  • You are fixated on losing weight.
Hey there, I'm Samantha!Your guide on your new Path to Wellness.

When I was in my 20s, I went from being able to take 30-minute long walks with my dog, with ease, to barely being able to hobble from my bedroom to the kitchen in a matter of days. I did physiotherapy, got x-rays, bloodwork, and an MRI. After 3 months, it spontaneously got better. My first flare had ended before I even had the chance to see the rheumatologist.

Then, in December 2018, I ended up missing more days of work than I was able to be in the office. I started on medication and went on a whole journey of trying to optimize the medical management of my psoriatic arthritis.

After a while, I realized that it wasn't just up to the medicine and doctors. I was stuck in spirals that just made things worse. I started making small changes that made a huge difference.

As I came out of that flare, I decided to go on a mission to help other women learn how to make the mindset shifts and lifestyle changes that let them fall back in love with their life again.

I am a Registered Dietitian in Ontario, living with Psoriatic arthritis. I'm also involved with the Arthritis Health Professions Association and the Canadian Spondyloarthritis Association.

I live in a small town with my husband, toddler, and dog. I love being surrounded by nature all year long (although, I would rather not deal with mosquitos and other insects!). When I'm not working on projects, I love to read fantasy novels, drink tea, and knit.
